EMAS cistern
This underground cistern stores about 3500L of water, it does so entirely underground.
This is a variation on a ferrocement tank like the one at the back of our terrain (here) but this tank uses almost no iron rebar. The idea of an underground cistern is that the surrounding soil holds back the water so the cistern only needs to be strong enough to hold back the soil and be coated in a watertight cement paste layer to keep the water in.
The WOT constructed this tank in 2023, after the design from EMAS, while this tank would be most suited in dry clay-like soil areas where rainwater harvesting is preferred over well drilling, it also functions well on the WOT-terrain.
